Bhubaneswar: As many as 3,510 villages in the State do not have mobile network, informed Electronics & Information Technology Minister Mukesh Mahaling in the Odisha Assembly on Monday while quoting from the data obtained from the Department of Communications, Government of India.
In response to a query by Congress MLA from Jeypore Tara Prasad Bahinipati, Mahaling in a written statement further said that 1062 villages especially in undivided Koraput district have no mobile network service.
The Department of Telecom, Government of India has set a target to make all the mobile towers in the district fully functional by December 2024 to provide mobile network to all these villages, Mahaling added.
