Bhubaneswar: The 3rd All Odisha Inter-Club Swimming Competition, organised by
The Odisha State Swimming Association jointly with the Sports Department, Government of Odisha, concluded today at the Biju Patnaik Swimming Pool, Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar.
As many as 180 swimmers, boys, girls, men and women in various age groups in Sub-junior, Junior and Seniors representing 24 clubs/ District Association/ districts units participated in the competition. This competition was a points based competition to determine the state level ranking of the swimmers for the year 2022.
The competition was inaugurated by Olympian Anuradha Biswal and the opening ceremony was presided by Soma Mishra, Working President of the Association. Among others, General Secretary Golapmani Mahanta, Treasurer Bijaya Dixit were present. The technical support was provided by JSW, Odisha. Sarthak Prabhakar, Sports Consultant, Sports Department of Odisha was coordinating the event.
The Kalinga Aquatic Club was at the top of the table with 546 points followed by KIIT & KIIS with 222 points and Hirakhand swimming Club, Sambalpur was in third position with 160 points.
Sudip Shatpathy and Dhirendra Khandelwal of E-Square Technology were the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour in the concluding ceremony who gave away the prizes to the winners. The Association congratulated all the winners and participants and thank the Government of Odisha for their huge support to develop, promote and expand the sport of swimming.
