Bhubaneswar: Plantsite Police have cracked a house burglary case in Raurkela with the arrest of four persons and the apprehension of a Child in Conflict with Law (CICL), recovering the entire haul of stolen gold ornaments and Rs 70,000 in cash, police said on Friday.
According to police, the burglary took place when unidentified miscreants allegedly broke into a house by forcing open a window while the occupants were away. The accused reportedly decamped with gold ornaments and cash from the residence.
Following the complaint, police launched an investigation using technical surveillance, intelligence inputs, and extensive field verification. The probe led investigators to the suspects, who were subsequently arrested in coordinated raids.
A Child in Conflict with Law (CICL) was also apprehended for his alleged involvement in the crime, police said.
During the operation, police recovered all the stolen gold ornaments along with ₹70,000 in cash. The recovered property has been seized as evidence.
Police officials said the accused are being questioned to ascertain whether they were involved in other burglary cases reported in and around Raurkela.
Further investigation is underway.
