Bhadrak: A four-year-old boy died after being bitten by a cobra on Tuesday while on a visit to his maternal grandparents’ home in Fulagadhia Chhak, Shendhatira, under Bant police station limits in Bhadrak district.

According to reports, the victim, Sinu Pradhan – only son of Pradeep Pradhan from Bantala village in Kadabarang Panchayat under Agarpara police station limits had accompanied his father to attend post-funeral rituals at his maternal grandparents’ house. While playing with other children, a cobra approached from behind and bit him on the waist.

Family members rushed Sinu to Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. The incident has plunged the family into profound grief.

Villagers later captured the snake using a net and handed it over to the Snake Helpline team after contacting them.
