Bhubaneswar: A dramatic rescue operation was carried out by the Sahid Nagar police in Bhubaneswar after a four-year-old boy was allegedly abducted by his foster uncle from Bhoi Nagar area in the city.
The accused, identified as Abhisek Digal alias Sonu, had recently returned from Bengaluru, where he had been working, and was invited to the boy’s home by his mother, Gorita Singh.
However, without informing Gorita and her husband, Sonu stole the baby. The boy’s elder brother noticed the abduction and informed his parents, who launched a search but failed to locate the child. They then reported the matter to the Sahid Nagar police station.
A special team was formed, and after tracking mobile phones and raiding different localities, the police rescued the baby from Salia Sahi area and arrested the accused.
The incident occurred at 10 am, and the parents lodged a complaint at 3 pm. The police are now questioning the accused to determine the motive behind the abduction.
