Nuapada: In a tragic incident at Ranimunda village in Khadial block today, a four-year-old boy sustained critical burns after accidentally falling into a vessel containing hot ‘kheer’.
The child was critically scalded in this mishap. Reports said that during a feast, while ‘kheer’ was being prepared, a child playing in the vicinity slipped into the cauldron.
The 4-year-old sustained 90 percent burns and was rushed to the local Mission Hospital and later shifted to a private hospital in Raipur.
A man who rescued the child sustained burns on both hands and is undergoing treatment.
The father of the child is a teacher who earns Rs 7,000 a month and has expressed concerns about the cost of the treatment, reports stated.
