5 Killed, 10 Injured As Tourist Bus Overturns Near Takara Ghati In Nayagarh

Bhubaneswar: As many as five persons were killed and 10 others injured when a bus they were travelling in overturned after hitting a rock near Takara Ghati on National Highway 57 in Nayagarh district late Friday night.

As per reports, the road mishap took place at 1 am when the tourist bus, carrying around 60 passengers was going to Harishankar from Berhampur.

The deceased include the driver and four passengers. The deceased are Hari Patra, Lakshmi Patra, Suprabha Sahu, Sumati Sahu, and driver Prabin Sahu. The injured have been admitted to Nayagarh District Headquarters Hospital. Condition of the injured tourists is stated to be critical. Besides, 45 others are being treated at Dasapalla Community Health Centre.

Upon being informed, Dasapalla Police reached the scene, recovered the bodies, and shifted the injured to the hospital. Police investigation is underway to asceratin the exact cause of the accident.
