Bhubaneswar: As many as five labourers were killed after a cement-laden tipper fell into a gorge in hilly terrain in Malkangiri district on Saturday.
The tragic incident occurred when the vehicle carrying around 10 labourers lost control over the wheels and plunged into Hantalaguda gorge. Seven of them suffered critical injuries in the mishap. They have been admitted to a local hospital.
The goods truck was on its way to Jodamba from Swabhiman Anchal in Malkangiri.
A rescue operation is underway.
