Bhubaneswar: Five Maoists were killed and three jawans were injured in an encounter in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh on Friday.
According to reports, the confrontation occurred in a forest near Gobel village in the Orchha area during an anti-Maoist operation conducted by a joint team of security personnel.
The operation involved personnel from the District Reserve Guard of Narayanpur, Kondagaon, Dantewada, and Bastar districts, along with the 45th battalion of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).
Following the exchange of gunfire, the bodies of five Maoists in uniform and several weapons were recovered. Three jawans sustained injuries during the gun battle.
