Bhubaneswar: At least 50 female students of Kasturba Gandhi Girls Hostel in the Lamtaput area of Odisha’s Koraput district fell ill due to alleged food poisoning after consuming contaminated food as dinner on Sunday night.
According to reports, the inmates of the school hostel complained of diarrhea, vomiting, and stomach ache soon after taking their dinner last night.
Soon, a team of five doctors from the Lamtaput Community Health Centre (CHC) reached the hostel and started treating the ailing students. While 40 students recovered after preliminary treatment, the remaining students were admitted to a local healthcare facility.
Doctors suspect food poisoning to be the reason behind the ailment of the students. A team of doctors from Koraput are expected to visit the hostel and collect food samples for examination on Monday.
