Bhubaneswar: As many as 50 persons of Uparajhara village under Deogaon block in Bolangir district were taken ill after they allegedly consumed food at a religious function on Tuesday night.
According to sources, Uparajhara villagers had attended a religious function there. Many of them complained of nausea, diarrhoea and vomiting after consuming the food there. The victims were then rushed to the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR). The condition of seven persons is stated to be critical.
Upon being informed, doctor teams from Arjunpur and Deogaon reached the village and provided treatment to the ailing persons.
