Rourkela: In a swift operation, the police on Tuesday arrested six persons in connection with a major burglary at the Electrical Godown on DAV Lane under Plantside Police jurisdiction in Rourkela, recovering stolen audio equipment worth approximately Rs 20 lakh.
The accused have been identified as Sourav Ghosh (19), Sunil Saw, alias Tulu (24), Suraj Kishan (25), Manoj Kindo (34), Deepak Barwa (24), and Rohit Kindo (27).
According to police, the theft occurred between the evening of January 11 and the morning of January 12, 2026. The godown owner, Davinder Singh, lodged a complaint after discovering the loss of professional audio equipment.
Acting on a tip-off, the police launched a rapid operation, recovering 19 amplifiers, 4 speakers, 2 stabilizers, 2 microphones, an audio mixer, 4 LED lights, a pick-up truck, and an auto rickshaw used in the crime. The swift action reportedly solved the case in under 24 hours.
All six accused have been booked under Sections 331(4), 305(a), and 3(5) of the BNS and have been forwarded to court.
