6-Month-Old Girl Child Killed In Road Mishap In Sundargarh

Sundargarh: A six-month-old girl child was killed and her mother was critically injured when the scooter in which they were pillion riding was hit by a speeding truck on the Rourkela- Sambalpur Biju Expressway at Karamdihi on Friday.

The deceased girl child has been identified as Shreyanshi of Itma village in Badgaon tehsil of Sundargarh district.

According to reports, Muni Pradhan was pillion riding with the child in her arms on a scooter driven by her younger sister from Itma when a speeding truck hit them. The child fell off Muni’s arms on the road under the impact of the collision killing her instantaneously.

Locals rescued Muni and rushed her to the district headquarters hospital here. However, as her condition deteriorated she was shifted to VIMSAR, Burla.
