Bhawanipatna: At least nine persons were injured on Tuesday when the autorickshaw in which they were travelling overturned on Jamuli road near Badensara village under Madanpur Rampur tehsil of Kalahandi district.
Seven persons have been seriously injured in the accident. They have been identified as Mikal Harijan (18), Kareli Majhi (30), Baduli Harijan (60), Semali Majhi (28), Bakeri Majhi (60), Braja Harijan (60), and Nilendri Harijan (28).
They were initially rushed to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Mohangiri and then to the Community Health Centre at Madanpur Rampur. However, they were later shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital at Bhawanipatna after their health condition deteriorated.
According to reports, 15 men, women and children of Sarnegpada, Pottangi and Tentulipada villages in Dedhasuli panchayat of Madanpur Rampur block were going to Maskapadi village in Sudra panchayat of Kandhamal district to attend a marriage ceremony when the accident occurred.
