Bhubaneswar: In a remarkable medical success, doctors at the Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital in Koraput successfully removed a metal clip from the throat of a 7-month-old baby, saving the infant’s life.
The incident occurred when the 7-month-old child accidentally swallowed a clip while playing. The object got lodged in the throat, causing severe breathing difficulties. The panicked family immediately rushed the baby to Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital.
A team of ENT specialists, led by Dr. Rajesh Kar and Dr Gopal Nayak, decided to perform emergency surgery after assessing the critical condition. The operation was conducted successfully, and the clip was safely removed. The child is now out of danger and his condition is stated to be stable.
