Balasore: A seven-year-old boy was killed on the spot after a tractor loaded with soil ran over him in Jalang under the Khaira block of Balasore district.
Satyajit Barik (7), son of Ajay Barik of Jalang village, was playing near his house when a tractor loaded with soil suddenly ran over him, and he died on the spot.
The tractor driver fled after the accident, but local residents stopped the tractor and severely beat the driver.
The Simulia police reached the spot, seized the body for post-mortem, and are conducting an investigation.
