Bhubaneswar: A total of 703 posts of doctors are lying vacant in Odisha as on 1st of July this year, informed Health & Family Welfare Minister Naba Kisore Das today in the State Assembly.
Replying to a query from Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC), the Minister said that against the 8750 sanctioned posts of doctors in the State, there are 8047 doctors in the State from different categories.
Das further informed that a total of 2,423 students have qualified from Government and private medical colleges in the last three years.
A total of 2247 doctors have been appointed by the Odisha government under the OMHS cadre through the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) in the last three years 2019 to 2021.
