Baripada: Mayurbhanj Collector Vineet Bhardwaj today handed over cheques of Rs 4,000 each to eight children from the district who have been orphaned in the deadly triple train accident on 2nd June at Bahanaga Bazar station in Balasore district.
Bharadwaj handed over the cheques to the beneficiary children at a function organised by the District Child Protection Unit at the facilitation centre in the District Collector’s office.
These children will be provided with Rs 4,000 each every month as assistance to fulfil their education and other needs till they attain 18 years of age and become self-reliant.
“Today we started sponsorship support for the children who were orphaned in the Bahanaga train accident. Eight children from our district will be provided with Rs 4,000 per month till they reach the age of 18 years. I hope that this money will be of help to further their studies and take care of their health,” said Bhardwaj speaking to reporters here today.
