9-Foot King Cobra

Bhubaneswar: A 9-foot-long king cobra was rescued from a house in Atalsara village under Harabhanga block in Boudh district on Tuesday.

According to reports, the snake was first spotted by the family of Sadanand Nayak. Alarmed by the sight, Nayak immediately alerted his family members and informed the Snake Helpline.

Acting on the call, a six-member team from the Snake Helpline Club of Kantamal rushed to the spot and launched a search operation. After nearly an hour of effort, the team successfully rescued the reptile.

Upon examination, the snake was identified as a king cobra measuring approximately 9 feet in length. The helpline members later released it into a secluded area within the Satkosia Sanctuary.
