Bhubaneswar: Renowned Odia music composer Abhijit Majumdar’s health condition has taken a turn for the worse, and he has been shifted to the ICU again at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar. The 54-year-old musician has been undergoing treatment for multiple comorbid conditions, including osmotic demyelination syndrome, bilateral pneumonia, bloodstream infection, and chronic liver disease, since September 4.
According to the AIIMS-Bhubaneswar statement, Majumdar’s condition deteriorated in the last 24 hours, requiring mechanical ventilation support and vasopressors to maintain his hemodynamics. He is currently in a comatose state with no improvement in his neurological status.
Majumdar was initially admitted to a private hospital in Cuttack on August 27 after experiencing health complications during the Ganesh Puja festival. His condition worsened, and he was shifted to AIIMS-Bhubaneswar on September 4. Although he was shifted to the Medicine ward on September 25 after being taken off ventilator support, his condition has now deteriorated, necessitating ICU care.
