Bhubaneswar: Additional Tahasildar and in-charge Tahasildar of Binjharpur Tahasil Pradipta Kumar Sethi, who was apprehended by Odisha Vigilance sleuths while allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000 from a landowner for favourable demarcation of his land, has been forwarded to the Court today.
On Friday, the Vigilance team laid a trap based on a complaint and caught Sethi red-handed while receiving the bribe amount. The entire tainted cash of Rs 30,000 was recovered from his possession and seized on the spot.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches were carried out by officers of Odisha Vigilance. During searches, cash worth Rs 5,06,490 was unearthed and seized.
Meanwhile, a case (Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No 36/19.12.2025) has been registered against Sethi under the PC (Amendment) Act, 2018.
Investigation into the case continues.
