Nuapada: ADG (Operations) Amitabh Thakur today paid a day’s visit to Nuapada to review the Naxal situation in the district.
Thakur was here to monitor Naxal activities and strengthen anti-Naxal campaign in the district.
He was accompanied by DIG (South-Western) Rajesh Pandit and senior officers of the CRPF.
After visiting Naxal infested areas of Sunabeda and Jamgaon the ADG (Operations) he held a review meeting with senior police officials at the district police headquarters here.
Briefing mediapersons after the review meeting Thakur said that Nuapada will be made Naxal-free district.
For the purpose, discussions have been held with the police of neighbouring state of Chhattisgarh, he added.
While pointing out that there has been a fall in Naxal activities in the area, Thakur said anti-Naxal campaign will be further strengthened in the area.
