Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for moderate rainfall, light thunderstorms, and lightning accompanied by wind speeds of 30-40 kmph in 11 districts of Odisha.
The nowcast warning, effective from 7:27 am to 10:27 am on June 28, 2025, covers approximately 70,065 square kilometers across Balangir, Balassore, Bargarh, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Jajapur, Kendrapara, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada, and Sundargarh districts.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to stay cautious and avoid open fields or tall structures during the next three hours due to the likelihood of lightning and gusty winds. The IMD urges people to stay updated with local weather reports and take necessary precautions.
