AI-Enabled Cameras

Bhubaneswar: More artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled cameras will soon be installed in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack to enhance security and reduce crime.

This was announced by the Twin City Police Commissioner, S. Dev Datta Singh, on Monday.

Speaking to the media, Commissioner Singh stated that around 1,000 cameras have already been installed at various points in the Twin Cities.

“We believe that, considering our population and security requirements, these cameras are inadequate. Therefore, we have recommended to the government that additional cameras be installed,” he said.

He further explained that these new cameras will not just be ordinary cameras, but AI-enabled cameras.

“These AI cameras will help identify criminals and improve analytics, which will strengthen our prevention and detection efforts. By adding more cameras and advanced technology, we believe we can make our security system more efficient and responsive,” he added.

Additionally, he spoke about recent crimes, such as robberies, where the police were able to catch the suspects and recover stolen items.

He urged apartment owners to install more CCTV cameras and consider hiring security guards for added protection.

The police are committed to making Bhubaneswar and Cuttack safer by improving surveillance and security measures.
