Ailing Elephant Calf Found Dead In Balangir’s Titilagarh Forest

Balangir: An elephant calf has been found dead in a nullah near Limapara village under the Belgaon section of Titilagarh range in Balangir district.

Upon being informed, the forest department officials retrieved the carcass.

According to reports, the elephant calf had strayed from its herd, which had migrated from Kalahandi district, and was roaming in the nearby forest. The calf was ill, and the forest department was informed about its condition.

Today, local residents spotted the dead elephant calf in a nullah and informed the forest department, following which Balangir DFO and other officials reached the spot and launched an investigation.
