Berhampur: The health of at least 20 patients at MKCG Medical College and Hospital deteriorated after administration of an alleged ‘wrong injection’, the relatives of the patients said.
The incident was reported on Friday when several persons undergoing treatment for diarrhoea were administered an injection in the morning. They started shivering and were provided oxygen masks, reports said.
Some of the patients were scheduled to be discharged today as all were doing well, the attendants said, adding that the injections were not needed.
The doctors refuted the allegations of administering wrong injections. ‘The patients were given injections according to their disease and symptoms.” These were routine injections like antibiotics and for gastritis,” they said.
