Bhubaneswar: Business tycoon Mukesh Ambani’s younger son Anant Ambani visited the Jagannath Temple in Puri amid tight security on Tuesday night.
Anant paid obeisance to the Holy Trinity at the 12th Century shrine and donated Rs 2.51 crore to the temple, according to a source.
Sources said, Anant drove straight to a five-star hotel after arriving at Biju Patnaik International Airport. Later, Anant left for Srimandir at 9.30 pm with the Z Plus category of security and reached the temple at 10.30 pm. Security arrangements were tightened for his visit to the Puri temple.
Dressed in ethnic attire, Anant was all smiles as he received a grand welcome from the servitors and Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) officials.
He sought the blessings of Lord Jagannath and his siblings before tying the knot with Radhika. Also, he offered prayers to Maa Bimala, Maa Laxmi and Mahavir during his visit to the temple. He sat for some time at Goddess Laxmi’s temple. Besides, he was seen reciting Hanuman Chalisa.
Anant assured the temple administration to donate silver doors for three dwara (doors) of the ancient temple. He made this announcement in the presence of temple management committee member Jagannath Kar and servitor Raghunath Gochhikar among others.
The Ambani scion had earlier visited Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati on Monday and sought the blessings of the Goddess.
