Bhubaneswar: In a massive show of support for ambitious Subhadra scheme, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida led a ‘Subhadra Swagat Padayatra’ from Unit-III Giridurga Temple to Ramadevi University Square in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.

The event witnessed thousands of women marching alongside the Deputy CM to promote self-independence among women in the state.

The programme was attended by several prominent leaders, including Deputy CM KV Singh Deo, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi, MLA Babu Singh, Bhubaneswar Mayor Sulachana Dash, and other BJP leaders.

The ‘Subhadra Swagat Padayatra’ is part of a state-wide initiative, with around 10,000 padayatras being conducted across Odisha today. Anganwadi workers, supervisors, SHG members, and Asha workers will lead the padayatras to spread awareness at the grassroots level. The events will continue for a week.

Emphasising the importance of the Subhadra Yojana, Deputy CM Pravati Parida said, “We have all come together to strengthen the women of our society. The aim of Subhadra Yojana is to make every woman in our state self-independent and self-reliant.”

The event marks a significant step towards empowering women in Odisha, with the BJP government leaving no stone unturned to make the scheme a massive success.
