Angul: Four police personnel of Angul district have been suspended for their alleged involvement in ganja trafficking.
Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of Kishorenagar police station Jitendra Samantasinghar, constables Manoj Nayak and Lingaraj Muduli and driver of Angul district police headquarters Ajit Sahu were suspended by DIG Uma Shankar Dash for their alleged involvement in ganja smuggling.
According to reports, ganja smugglers often use the road passing through Angul district to transport the contraband from the Boudh district. While passing through the district’s border areas, Ganja traffickers often grease the palms of policemen of police stations in border areas to facilitate the transit of the contraband. Similar allegations were levelled against these policemen.
Following repeated allegations and evidence against these four policemen DIG Uma Shankar Dash suspended them.
