Bhubaneswar: The heat-wave conditions prevailed across the State with mercury touching 43 degrees C in four places in the State.
Angul emerged as the hottest town in the State today with recording 43.5 degrees C.
Malkangari recorded a maximum day temperature of 43.2 degrees while in Boudh and Titilagarh witnessed 43 degrees C.
On the other hand, the capital city Bhubaneswar which turned the hottest place on Friday at 43.5 degrees, today saw a drop in the mercury level to 39.6 degrees C. The maximum temperature in Cuttack was 40.1 degrees.
The places crossed 42 degrees C are Talcher (42), Bhawanipatna (42.8), Bolangir (42.3), Nayagarh (42.3) and Paralakhemundi (42).
The IMD, in a bulletin, forecasted rain and thunderstorms in parts of Odisha during the next 24 hours. The rain is expected to bring solace to the hot State.
