Bhubaneswar: Anugola Police has issued a public appeal urging citizens to report any instances of illegal donation demands or forced collection of chanda in the name of Puja or other festival-related activities.
In a social media post released for the ongoing festival season, the police stated that if any person or puja/festival organiser is found demanding illegal donations or forcibly collecting contributions, people should immediately inform the authorities.
Citizens can report such incidents through the 112 Helpline, the police email ID spang.odpol@od.gov.in, or by approaching the nearest police station.
The police have assured that necessary legal action will be taken as per law upon receiving any such information.
Appealing for public cooperation, Anugola District Police emphasised the need to ensure that the festival season remains peaceful, safe and free from any form of coercion or forced collection.
