Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths apprehended an Assistant Revenue Inspector (ARI) of Chandanpur RI office, coming under the jurisdiction of Puri Tahasil, Puri district, today.
ARI Pabitra Kumar Kandi was caught, demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 51,000 from a complainant to forward an enquiry report for facilitating the conversion of agricultural land to homestead land (Gharabari) for issuance of RoR (Record of Rights).
The anti-corruption team has recovered and seized the entire bribe amount from Kandi’s possession.
The agency has launched searches at three of Kandi’s locations due to suspicions of possessing disproportionate assets following a successful trap operation.
The Vigilance has registered a case against Kandi under section 7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018.
Further investigation is in progress against the accused.
