Armed Robbers Decamp With Rs 50 Lakh From Residence in Balasore’s Nilgiri

Bhubaneswar: In a daring robbery, six miscreants, armed with country-made pistols, looted Rs 20 lakh cash and Rs 30 lakh worth of gold ornaments from the house of Kahalia villager under Nilagiri NAC in Balasore district.

According to reports, armed miscreants stormed into the house of Govinda Singh on late Wednesday night. The incident occurred time when Singh and his family were having dinner at home. The robbers, wearing masks, tied up the family members and forced them to hand over the keys to the locker and almirah before escaping on two bikes.

Upon being informed, police have launched an investigation into the incident. Singh claimed that two of the robbers were from Odisha, while the other four were from outside the state.
