Jayapur: After the arrest of notorious criminal Tuna Harijan, ASP Manoj Pujari held a press meet today detailing the recovery of stolen goods and weapons.
Police have seized 250 grams of gold ornaments, 1 kg 100 grams of silver ornaments, a country-made gun, 18 live cartridges, various deadly weapons and Rs 50,000 cash. The estimated value of recovered gold and silver is over Rs 50 lakh.
ASP Pujari informed that three associates of Tuna and six others who had received the stolen goods have also been arrested. Tuna was taken on 7-day remand, which led to the recovery and arrest of his accomplices.
More than 40 criminal cases are registered against Tuna Harijan in various police stations of Koraput district. A total of nine persons have been arrested in the case. Police have also seized a Bolero, a car, an auto and a bike from them. Further investigation is underway.
