Bhubaneswar: Reacting to the letter of the Odisha Home Department which sought information on the leave status of IPS officer Ashish Kumar Singh, the Director General of Police (DGP) Arun Kumar Sarangi today clarified that the IPS officer has resumed duty on June 3 after his one-month leave period is over.
“The government had granted Ashish Kumar Singh leave from May 4 to June 2. He joined the duty on June 3 after his leave period is over. He is working in the office of the Intelligence Directorate which must have sent his joining letter to our office. This is a routine correspondence. The letter is normally sent to the Home Department from our office. I will look into the matter that why the letter has not been despatched,” DGP said while replying to reporters on the Home Department’s letter.
However, Singh has attended several meetings including one on June 17 which was held on New Criminal Law, the DGP said.
Earlier on Thursday, the Home Department wrote to the DGP seeking information on Ashish Singh’s leave.
