Bhubaneswar: Chandaka police on Saturday recreated the crime scene in Sundarpur with seven detained youths in connection with the harassment of Army Major Guruvansh Singh and his fiancée Ankita under the Bharatpur police station area.
As part of the ongoing investigation into the harassment of Singh and his fiancée, the Major was questioned and his statement was recorded during the crime scene recreation at Bharatpur police station in Bhubaneswar.
According to sources, the Commissionerate Police detained seven persons including students of two engineering colleges on Friday. The police are still searching for 3-4 additional suspects involved in the incident.
The cyber police are, meanwhile, analysing recorded videos and scrutinizing the call detail records (CDR) of both the victim and the accused road romeos. This development comes after seven youths were detained in connection with the incident.
According to reports, on the night of September 14, the couple was chased by over 11 youths in three cars and attacked on Pathargadia Road. The police investigation, prompted by a viral video, led to the detention of seven individuals. CCTV footage from DLF Building Road and surrounding areas aided in identifying the accused.
A case has been registered at Chandaka police station.
