Sonpur: An Assistant Revenue Inspector (ARI) allegedly died by suicide at his residence in Subarnapur district.
The deceased has been identified as Tarunananda Sahu, serving as the ARI at Brahmani under Tarabha block. He allegedly hanged himself at his house in Ghodaghat Pada in the town.
According to family members, he had gone out for a walk in the town yesterday evening and returned home around 9 pm. They informed that he was under mental stress. After having dinner at night, he went to sleep. However, sometime during the night, he allegedly hanged himself from a ceiling fan in the house using a rope.
After the news spread in the morning, employees of the Revenue Department and relatives gathered for a last glimpse. Police have registered a case of unnatural death and have started an investigation into the incident.
