Bhubaneswar: A former Assistant Revenue Inspector was convicted and sentenced to four years rigorous imprisonment by a vigilance court in Cuttack in a bribery case.
Suresh Chandra Pradhan, a former Assistant Revenue Inspector, was found guilty of demanding and accepting a bribe from a complainant to initiate a mutation case.
Pradhan, who was posted at Dampada Tahasil in Cuttack district, was charge-sheeted by the Odisha Vigilance in 2016. He has been sent to jail custody to serve his sentence.
Following his conviction, the Odisha Vigilance will move to dismiss Pradhan from service.
