Jeypore: A B.Tech student was arrested on Monday for allegedly assaulting a BSc Nursing student in Jeypore of Koraput district.
The accused has been identified as Satyajit Sarkar, a resident of Gurusingha village in Nabarangpur district and currently studying in Bhubaneswar, reportedly attacked the nursing student, causing severe head injuries.
According to reports, the victim, a nursing student from Nabarangpur district studying in a Jeypore college, sustained serious bleeding after the assault. Witnesses alerted the Jeypore Town Police and the victim subsequently filed a complaint.
Following the complaint, Jeypore Town Police arrested Sarkar. Inspector-in-Charge Ullash Chandra Rout confirmed the arrest and stated that the accused has been produced before the court.
The police have registered a case and initiated further investigation.
