Puri: The Bada Mahasnana ritual was performed at the Srimandir in Puri on Saturday after vomiting was noticed near the Dhukudi Dwar, leading to the temporary suspension of public darshan for around one and a half hours.
According to temple sources, the incident occurred after the morning Dhupa when Bhitarkatha darshan was underway. After vomiting was noticed at the Dhukudi Dwar, the temple rituals were carried out as per the prescribed practice, following which the Bada Mahasnana was performed.
The ritual resulted in general darshan being halted for approximately one and a half hours, causing a temporary disruption for devotees waiting to have darshan of the deities.
After completion of the Bada Mahasnana ritual and other necessary rituals, public darshan resumed smoothly at the temple.
