Cuttack: Badambadi Police successfully detected an illegal arms case and arrested a suspected arms dealer in this connection during a raid at the house of the accused.
The accused has been identified as Gujia @ Suresh Kumar Parida (58), a resident of Sankarpur Parida Sahi under Badambadi police station.
During a search operation at Parida’s residence, police seized two firearms, ammunition, and a mobile phone. Preliminary investigation suggests Parida was involved in the illegal possession and sale of firearms to antisocial elements.
Parida has a history of criminal activity, with two previous cases registered against him at Badambadi Police Station. Police are investigating the source of the seized arms and possible links with other criminal networks.
The accused will be produced in court today, and further investigation is underway.
