Bhubaneswar: The Special CBI Court here today evening allowed the premier investigative agency in the country to take the three accused in the Bahanaga triple train tragedy of June 2 on a five-day remand for further interrogation.
The court allowed the CBI to take the accused persons on remand till July 11 beginning today.
The CBI had sought to take the three accused persons on a five-day remand.
Before producing the accused persons in court, the CBI had got them medically examined at the Capital Hospital here.
Earlier in the day, the CBI had arrested the then Senior Section Engineer (Signal), Balasore Arun Kumar Mohanta; then Senior Section Engineer (Signal), Soro Mohammad Amir Khan; and then Technician, Balasore Pappu Kumar under sections 304 and 201 of the IPC and Section 153 of Railways Act, 1989 in an ongoing investigation of a case related to train mishap at Bahanaga Bazar Railway Station, in Balasore district on June 2 this year.
