Balasore: Soro Police on Monday took 25-year-old Biswaranjan Puhan to the spot where his ex-girlfriend was murdered to help recreate the crime scene.
Police arrested Biswaranjan for allegedly slitting his 25-year-old ex-girlfriend Jyotirmayee Rana’s throat in Lingapada village on February 26. However, before his arrest, he attempted to end his life by consuming poison upon spotting the police.
According to reports, the investigation began behind Jyotirmayee’s house. During the crime scene recreation, Soro police recovered a steel knife from an electric pole near a deserted bushy area in Gopinathpur village.
Further searches were conducted from College Chhak to Soro police station to gather more evidence.
Police also recovered three mobile phones: one belonging to the victim and the other two to the accused, from the spot where the accused had dumped.
