Balasore: In a bid to maintain peace and order during the Ganesh Puja festivities, the Balasore police have taken strict action against DJs playing loud music, seizing 20 vehicles in the process. The police raided a procession of DJ vehicles in the town, responding to complaints about deafening sounds affecting elderly people, children, and patients.
Despite prior warnings from the district administration and Peace Committee to keep the noise levels down, the DJs were found to be playing music at high decibels. The Simulia police and other areas of Balasore town also seized several DJ vehicles.
The administration’s action aims to prevent disturbance to residents, particularly those with health conditions, and ensure a peaceful celebration of the festival.
The district administration had previously met with the Peace Committee and Puja Committees to discuss noise pollution and agreed to ban high-decibel sounds during the festival.
