Bhubaneswar: Train services on the Howrah-Chennai main line will witness temporary changes following yard remodelling works at Baleshwar station under the Kharagpur Division of South Eastern Railway as part of the Narayangarh-Bhadrak third line project.

According to an official statement issued on Wednesday, several trains will be short-terminated, diverted and rescheduled between July 29 and August 11 to facilitate the infrastructure upgrade.

The Bhubaneswar-Baleshwar MEMU (Train No. 68408) will remain short-terminated at Bhadrak, while the Baleshwar-Bhubaneswar MEMU (Train No. 68407) will originate from Bhadrak instead of Baleshwar during the period from July 29 to August 11. Consequently, both services will operate only between Bhubaneswar and Bhadrak throughout the affected period.

The remodelling work will also lead to the diversion of several long-distance trains on specified dates. The Anand Vihar Terminal-Puri Neelachal Express (12876), commencing its journey on July 28 and on August 2, 4 and 7, will run via Chandil Junction-Kandra-Sini-Rajkharsawan-Nayagarh-Jakhapura instead of its regular route through Tatanagar, Hijli, Balasore and Bhadrak.

Similarly, the New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express (22824), departing on July 28 and on August 4 and 5, will follow the same diverted route via Chandil Junction, Kandra, Sini, Rajkharsawan, Nayagarh and Jakhapura.

The Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express (22811), commencing its journey on July 29 and on August 2, 5 and 9, will be diverted through Jakhapura, Nayagarh, Rajkharsawan, Sini, Kandra, Purulia, Rukni, Bhojudih and NSC Bose J Gomoh instead of its normal alignment via Bhadrak, Balasore, Hijli, Midnapore and Adra.

Likewise, the Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express (22823), departing on August 3, 4 and 7, will run via Jakhapura, Nayagarh, Rajkharsawan, Sini, Kandra and Chandil Junction in place of its scheduled route through Bhadrak, Balasore, Hijli and Tatanagar.

The Anand Vihar Terminal-Puri Nandan Kanan Express (12816), commencing its journey on August 3, will also operate on a diverted route via NSC Bose J Gomoh, Bhojudih, Rukni, Purulia, Kandra, Sini, Rajkharsawan, Nayagarh and Jakhapura instead of travelling through Adra, Midnapore, Hijli, Balasore and Bhadrak.

The railway administration has also announced rescheduling of several services. Train No. 22823 Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express will leave Bhubaneswar one hour later than its scheduled departure on July 30 and 31, while Train No. 22824 New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express will depart one hour late from New Delhi on August 1.

Train No. 22811 Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express will be rescheduled by one hour and 30 minutes from Bhubaneswar on August 2, while Train No. 22812 New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express will depart one hour and 30 minutes late from New Delhi on August 7.

Additionally, the Puri-Anand Vihar Terminal Nandan Kanan Express (12815) will leave Puri one hour later than its scheduled departure on August 3, 5 and 6.
