Balasore: Jaleswar police in Balasore district on Monday apprehended seven persons while they were planning to commit robbery at a nearby bank in Jaleswar area.
According to an official press communique of Balasore Police, acting on a tip-off Jaleswar police at about 1.20 AM on Monday conducted raids at Dashahara Padia in Gobarghata village and were able to nab seven persons while they had assembled and were preparing to rob a nearby bank.
Out of the seven detained persons, one is from Delhi, four are from West Midnapore and two are local scouts.
Police seized two pistols with 14 rounds of live ammunition, one country made gun with one live ammunition, three magazines, a gas cutter with oxygen tank, gloves, monkey caps, etc were recovered from their possession.
Three motorcycles and one car with multiple fake number plates were also recovered from their possession.
The operation was conducted in coordination with West Midnapore police, who will be further taking these accused in remand in previously wanted cases, the press communique added.
