Balangir: A woman was allegedly killed by her husband with an axe following a domestic dispute in Bharuapali village under Belpada block in Patnagarh sub-division of Balangir district on Wednesday, police said.
The accused, identified as Jay Kishan, allegedly picked up an axe during a heated argument with his wife Ranjita and attacked her repeatedly. Their minor daughter was also allegedly assaulted in the incident and sustained critical injuries, police said.
The injured girl was rushed to a hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, Jay Kishan allegedly attempted to flee the spot but was apprehended by police.
Further investigation into the incident is underway.
