Bhubaneswar: Monideepa Sarkhel, wife of Bapi Sarkhel, on Sunday joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) along with her supporters. Her husband Bapi Sarkhel is currently the Executive Chairman of Paradip-Ersama Industrial Development Council.
Seven independent councillors who won with Bapi’s support also joined the BJD today. They are Prithalata Raut, Jayanthi Madeli, Swapanarani Jena, Banita Raut, Shukramani Nag, Soudamini Raut, Runibala Parida, and Jagana Rao Kamla. BJD MP Manas Mangaraj welcomed them to the party on behalf of Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik and party organisational secretary Pranab Prakash Das.
Monideepa said they joined the BJD inspired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s development model. She said that the Chief Minister does not ignore anyone and he believes in work.
Monideepa added that legendary leader and former Odisha Chief Minister Biju Patnaik’s son Naveen Patnaik is an ideal Chief Minister and his working style and clean image inspire them.
