Minor Girl Drowns While Bathing In Pond In Koraput’s Borigumma

Jeypore: In a tragic incident, a minor girl drowned while bathing in a pond in Benasur village under Borigumma block in Koraput district on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Priyanka Randhari.

According to sources, Priyanka had gone to bathe in a village pond along with her friends when she reportedly slipped and fell into deeper water.

Her friends immediately raised an alarm, prompting villagers to rush to the spot. Priyanka was pulled out of the pond and taken to the Borigumma Community Health Centre for treatment.

However, doctors at the hospital declared her brought dead.

The incident has cast a pall of gloom over Benasur village under Borigumma.
