Bhubaneswar: Baripada in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district is the hottest city in the state as well as the country. According to the regional office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here, the day temperatures may increase by 2°C to 3°C in some places in the state during the next two days.
It further said that the peak of the active summer heat wave is likely to reach between Thursday and Friday with some areas recording day temperature of 45°C.
Meanwhile, the IMD has issued a yellow alert for heatwave in several Odisha districts till April 20 and advised people not to venture out of their homes between 11.00 am and 3.00 pm.
